Ingredients
- large head of cauliflower (cut into florets) 1
- oil 2 tablespoons
- cumin seeds 1 teaspoon
- onion (chopped) 1
- garlic cloves (minced) 2
- piece of ginger (grated) 1 inch
- red chili (chopped) 1
- turmeric 1 teaspoon
- coriander powder 1 teaspoon
- garam masala 1 teaspoon
- cumin powder 1 teaspoon
- salt 1 teaspoon
- tomato paste 1 teaspoon
- tomato puree 1 cup
- water 1/4 cup
- chopped cilantro for garnish 2 tablespoons
Instructions
- Heat oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add the cumin seeds and cook until fragrant, about 30 seconds.
- Add the chopped onion and cook until golden brown, about 5 minutes.
- Add the minced garlic, grated ginger and chopped red chili to the skillet and cook for another minute.
- Add the turmeric, coriander powder, garam masala, cumin powder, salt, tomato paste and tomato puree to the skillet and stir well.
- Add the cauliflower florets to the skillet and mix well with the spices.
- Pour 1/4 cup of water into the skillet, cover and let cook for 15 minutes or until the cauliflower is tender.
- Stir occasionally to prevent sticking to the bottom of the skillet.
- Once the cauliflower is cooked, uncover the skillet and cook for another 5 minutes until the sauce has thickened.
- Serve hot with chopped cilantro on top as a garnish. Enjoy!
